Professional Wrestling Federation opens

*January 1, 2007: At a press conference in New York, Jim Cornette announced his departure
from World Wrestling Entertainment and announced the formation of the largest wrestling
promotion of all-time, the Professional Wrestling Federation. Cornette recruited retired
wrestlers, wrestlers from the WWE and members of NWA TNA. Cornette announces a television
contract for the PWF Tuesday Night Wrestling to air on Tuesday nights on ESPN. Cornette
announces a monthly pay-per-view schedule for the PWF. The start date for the promotion
announced as 1/9/07. Cornette announces his roster: Bret Hart, Owen Hart, Davey Boy Smith, Jim
Neidhart, Ric Flair, Curt Hennig, Vader, Jeff Jarrett, Shane Douglas, Bam Bam Bigelow, Chris
Candido, Lance Storm, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Chris Benoit, Eddie
Guerrero, Dean Malenko, Perry Saturn, Steve Austin, The Rock, Mick Foley, Terry Funk, Kurt
Angle, Chris Jericho, The Undertaker, The Big Show, Sting, Diamond Dallas Page, Randy Savage,
Sid Vicious, Bill Goldberg, Scott Steiner, Kane and Hulk Hogan. Cornette went onto announce PWF
would feature three championships: PWF World Heavyweight Championship, PWF Intercontinental
Championship and PWF World Tag Team Championship.
